Help Desk Support Technician

Position Title: Help Desk Support Technician

Starting Pay: $12.50/hr. after 90-day probation period

Travel: < 5%

Position Summary:

As a Helpdesk Support Technician, you will be part of a growing 24×7 team located in Eau Claire, WI. This position performs a highly diverse range of duties in a fast paced technology driven environment. Helpdesk Support Technicians will ensure the maximum possible service availability and provide first level diagnoses. The position will be taking direction from the Helpdesk Supervisor and the Director of Internet and Network Management Center Services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Provide end-user computer support for computer related issues
  2. Help customers with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office related questions
  3. Reset customer passwords in Windows Active Directory
  4. Respond to incoming incidents
  5. Record all incidents
  6. Gather the minimum data set (MDS), perform triage and determine proper assignment for each incident
  7. Ensure power & equipment has been checked
  8. Handling service entitlement failures associated with Incidents for in-scope services
  9. Assessing the priority/severity of Incidents
  10. Fulfilling Incidents for which the helpdesk is responsible for resolution
  11. Documenting all actions taken for the incident in the associated Incident record
  12. Transferring incidents to the appropriate resolver group as required
  13. Informing the customer of the status of existing incidents, upon request
  14. Contacting the customer to obtain further information, if minimum data set information is incomplete
  15. Performing initial incident escalation on behalf of the customer
  16. Obtaining customer agreement for closing incidents for which the Service Desk is responsible for resolution
  17. Contacting support groups for ticket updates and status if additional information is needed
  18. Create and update existing documentation
  19. Follow all documented processes and procedures
  20. Work all other duties as assigned

Work Conditions/Equipment

Work performed indoors. Physical activity consists of normal office work, including utilization of basic office machines and computer equipment. Regular and timely attendance is mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Provide superior customer service skills in a responsive and professional manner
  2. Minimum of a high school diploma
  3. Ability to type 40 words per minute
  4. Diligence and attention to detail a plus
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  6. Strong technical troubleshooting skills
  7. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently
  8. A+ Certification a plus
  9. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  10. Occasional local and regional travel required (< 5% of time)
  11. Must be willing to work 1st , 2nd or 3rd shift
  12. Must be willing to work weekends on a rotational schedule
  13. Must be willing to work holidays that fall on scheduled shifts and have the flexibility to work extra shifts as required by management.

Administrative Assistant

Position Summary:

The role of the Administrative Assistant is to provide various departments within CMG and its subsidiaries a place to go with projects and tasks that require both technical expertise and administrative efficiency. The tasks and projects that will be handled in this role will allow those other departments’ team members to concentrate on departmental goals knowing that these activities will be handled in an expedient and professional manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to all departments within the organization with special emphasis on the Sales, Operations and Contract Management organizations.
  • Duties include copying, filing, scanning, database entry, spreadsheet creation and maintenance, scheduling, meeting coordination, travel arrangements, call routing, contract processing, and special projects.
  • Shipping, receiving, purchase order processing and inventory management.
  • Creation of presentation and marketing material as directed.
  • Carrier and Enterprise sales process support.
  • Creating/updating network maps and other visual tools.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
